Dragon Lis are carnivores. Never forget that when you’re trying to decide what you should feed your Dragon Li. If you don’t stick to this, your Dragon Li will seem like a finicky eater. You can have a hard time getting your new Dragon Li to eat if you’re giving him non-meat based foods like fruits, vegetables, dairy, nuts, seeds, etc.
What should Dragon Lis eat?
You must never forget that Dragon Lis share recent ancestry with the largest of felines — tigers, lions, and leopards, etc. — so keep that in mind as you’re feeding your Dragon Li. Never will you see an adult jaguar on National Geographic eating an apple, chewing grass, or drinking milk in nature.
Declawing a Dragon Li is an intense operation called a onychectomy, performed with anesthesia, which removes the claw of each digit (from the first knuckle out) of the Dragon Li’s paws. There’s a slight possibility of death in the surgery, and a declawed Dragon Li might have an increased risk of infection and life-long displeasure in its paws. This surgery is not appropriate for a mature Dragon Li and is considered an act of animal cruelty in some places (as shown below).
